Taking Measurements for a proper fit.

The illustration to the below serves as a guide for taking measurements. For the sake of accuracy, it is best to have a measuring buddy take your measurements. Regardless of whether you have a buddy take your measurements or if you take them yourself, please review the tutorial and video linked here and below. Then, record a measurement at each point as indicated on the illustration.

Be sure to wear the undergarments and shapewear you will wear on show day. Do not measure over bulky clothing, only over the undergarments or a light camisole/t-shirt. Take a deep breath and then let it out, and take the measurement at the bottom of the exhale when your body is relaxed.

Shoulder measurements are to be taken from the outermost point of shoulder across top of back to the outermost point of the other shoulder. Sleeve length is measured from the shoulder bone to the first knuckle of your thumb. Measurements from the “high-point neck” start where the collar of a t-shirt sits on your upper trapezius muscle and continue down over the fullest part of the bust.

Whether you have a measuring buddy taking your measurements or you are daring enough to take them yourself, this is an excellent tutorial and video reference.
